Student advice

The dean of studies is responsible for study affairs. Please arange an appointment if you have a specific problem with a study programme of the Biology Department.

The Study Service Center (SSC) is the place to go for any questions concerning the study programmes of the Biology Department (study contents, course of studies, class schedules etc.). Transfer students and students, with a delayed enrolment, can get  neccessary information here. In addition the SSC provides information about the Erasmus-exchange programmes of the Biology Department.

The student office  (room 00.781) is responsible for the insurance policy for laboratory devices, post-exam reviews and students assistant jobs. In case of absence from classes with compulsary attandance the medical certificate has to be submitted to the student office (please note that the medical certificate has to be submitted to the examination office, if an examination was missed due to a case of illness!).

Dr. Schoppmeier is resposible for the recognition of credits achieved at other institutions or study programmes for the “Fachstudium Biologie” (nicht-vertieft).

Prof. Klingler is resposible for the recognition of credits achieved at other institutions or study programmes for the “Fachstudium Biologie” (Gymnasium).

Michael Hümmer of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit in Erlangen gives advise if people with an academic profession have questions concerning their career prospects after finishing the Bachelor- or Master degree or if they need information for a professional  reorientation. The students are organised in the “Fachschaftsinitiative der Fachbereiche Biologie, Integrated Life Sciences und Lehramt Biologie”. They are interested in all student matters and may help in case of organisational issues and problems.
