New Funding for Exciting Projects in Extracellular Vesicles
The newly established Junior Research Group for Bacterial Interface Dynamics led by Dr. Cláudia Vilhena has recently received support from two foundations to advance and sediment the research on bacterial extracellular vesicles (EVs). The Research group is hosted by the Chair of Pharmaceutical Biology at the Department of Biology.
The CAPNETZ Foundation is supporting Dr. Vilhena’s project on extracellular vesicles as biomarkers for pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Another research project aimed at decoding the lipid blueprint of bacterial EVs and exploiting them for pharmaceutical applications is receiving funding from the Galenus Foundation.
We congratulate Cláudia on successfully applying for funding and wish her much success in her research projects!
