The canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway plays a crucial role in embryonic development by regulating various processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and tissue patterning.

Axin is a central protein in Wnt/β-catenin signaling. I aim to further unravel Axin’s mode of action in the canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in vivo by microinjection of different constructs into Xenopus laevis embryos and analyzing the resulting phenotypes.

With this project, we continue our longstanding collaboration with the group of Jürgen Behrens and Dominic Bernkopf on signaling mechanisms and modulators of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.
